Warcraft Update 1 and 2
A few days ago the Blizzcom 2013 was held (it is a conference of the Blizzard company in which they talk about news, announce exclusives and others …) and at this year’s conference they announced that they were working on an update of Warcraft: Orcs & Humans and Warcraft 2: Tides Of Darkness .
These updates would consist of adapting games for current PCs, since none of the games work on modern equipment without resorting to complicated configurations.
This is not news of what we usually put in Vozidea , but those two games were a revolution in their days and I could personally enjoy both in my old Pentium at 150MHz with 128MB of RAM.
A little history about Warcraft
For those who do not know, the Warcraft saga is a saga of real-time strategy games, in which we can choose between two sides, the Orcs and the Humans. If someone wants to try them, Warcraft 3: Reing of Chaos is available , which is in 3D and works on modern equipment (or at least it should work).
The first Warcraft was released in 1994 under the title Warcraft: Orcs & Humans , it worked under MSDOS. It had a resolution of 320 × 240 at 256 colors, needed 4MB of RAM and a 20 MHz CPU. As you can see some requirements for laughter for the times.
In 1995 we had the second title of the saga available under the name of Warcraft 2: Tides Of Darkness that later had an expansion called Beyond the Dark Portal. In my humble opinion, Warcraft 2 was the revolution in real-time strategy games, as it is considered as a masterpiece not only for the fun it offers, but for the history of the game. In Warcraft 2 the resolution has already been raised to 640 × 480 and a minimum of 8MB of RAM was needed.
After the Warcraft, Starcraft appeared, but I imagine you already know it because Startcraft 2 is relatively recent.
I am one of those who dreams of getting up one day and reading the news that Blizzard announces the development of a new installment of Warcraft and I am sure that I am not the only one who has this dream hehe.
