Calendar backup on Android

Many times it is necessary to make a backup or backup of the calendar on our Android device , either for security against possible loss or accidental loss of data.

In this article I will talk about the easiest way I have found to make a backup of the agenda on Android without backup applications. In other words, there are several applications to make backup copies, but in order to waste time and resources installing an application, when the task of making a backup of the agenda is integrated into the Android operating system itself.

Steps to make a backup or backup of the agenda on Android in a simple way.

  1. The first thing is to access our agenda or contact list.
  2. Once we have the contacts on the screen, we open the calendar options.
  3. We should see the option “Back up” .
  4. Selecting this option will ask us to choose where we want to save the backup, we choose “Internal storage” .
  5. We already have the backup or backup of the agenda created in /sdcard/System/PIM/archivo.vcf

With the previous steps we have a file with vcf extension that will be the backup of the agenda , with which we can also export our contacts to other devices .

To access the backup file you can use the USB cable and navigate to the path indicated from the PC or a more convenient way (the one I use) is to use a file manager for Android ( ES File Explorer or Astro ) and send that backup to a cloud storage (such as Google Drive or DropBox) that we can access from any device.

As you can see the backup system is very simple and can save us inconvenience in case of loss or accidental loss of data. It is highly recommended to create a backup of the agenda from time to time and with this method it does not take more than minutes so there is no excuse.
